Engaging Gen Alpha’s Rewired Brain

January 14, 2025
SOUTH 330G
Library Leaders
Research shows that children’s brains are being rewired by constant interaction with technology, prompting educators to wonder how their instruction should change in order to reach young digital natives, known as our Generation Alpha and Gen Now students. Educators will benefit from this interactive session because it will provide them with the tools they need to address changes in students' attention systems, memory networks, cognitive processes, and social skills, as well as demonstrate how to alter instruction to keep students motivated to learn. Many strategies will also be introduced and shown, including but not limited to: ? When and how to make use of enhanced technology and balance unplugged activities, ? How to teach like a park ranger to keep your students engaged and focused, ? Why the type of classroom learning space needs to be engaging and mobile for Generation Alpha's ? When and how to differentiate and personalized learning instruction with choice boards, learning menus, and flipped teaching.
