In this transformative panel, a diverse team of industry-leading female STEM professionals discuss the critical issue of gender disparity in STEM fields from multiple perspectives. Through the lens of their own STEM journeys, the speakers will share authentic challenges and triumphs that are unique to women pursuing this career path. The session brings together four remarkable women from diverse backgrounds: a college student and founder of a youth virtual coding program, a former instructional technology leader turned STEM education consultant, a pediatrician who transitioned into STEM education, and a Black woman in STEM, championing for more diversity in the field. These distinguished panelists will share their unique journeys and insights, tackling the systemic barriers girls face and highlighting successful strategies to inspire and sustain their interest in STEM, and ensuring they continue in STEM fields. The discussion will cover engaging young girls, the critical role of mentorship, and the importance of culturally relevant material. This visionary conversation aims to build an inclusive and innovative future, where every girl has the opportunity to explore, excel, and lead in STEM.
