EXPO HALL LEADERSHIP ROUND TABLES: BOOTH 3386
Classroom Leaders
Engineering design meets environmental science in this exciting Bot Safari workshop! Participants will design and build motorized bots that represent endangered species, then collaborate with fellow conservationists to create habitats that protect these vulnerable creatures. This session fosters team-building and explores real-world environmental challenges through playful, hands-on activities. Attendees will begin by learning about various endangered species and their unique habitats. They will then use provided materials to construct motorized bots, incorporating elements that reflect the animals’ characteristics and survival needs. Once the bots are built, participants will work in teams to design and construct habitats using craft and recycled materials, ensuring the bots can navigate and thrive in their new environments. This engaging workshop combines engineering, environmental science, and creative problem-solving and suggestions on how to extend the project in the classroom with ELA and storytelling where teams present their bots and habitats. Educators will leave with their custom-built bots, comprehensive project guidelines, and a wealth of resources to implement this innovative project in their classrooms. This workshop provides the inspiration and practical tools needed to blend science, technology, and creativity, offering students an engaging and educational experience that highlights the importance of conservation and environmental stewardship.
