Bloom’s Taxonomy and Beyond: Reaching New Levels With AI-Enhanced Education

January 16, 2025
EXPO HALL LEADERSHIP ROUND TABLES: BOOTH 3386
Classroom Leaders
Welcome to the future of education! In this session we will explore how Bloom's Taxonomy can be applied to the integration of AI in educational settings, and propose new levels of cognitive engagement that AI makes possible. We will briefly revisit the foundational principles of Bloom's Taxonomy, understanding its relevance and application in today’s AI-enhanced classrooms. We will then explore how AI tools can be leveraged to facilitate learning at each of Bloom’s levels. In addition, this session will introduce the concept of new levels of cognitive engagement made possible by AI, such as Collaborative Intelligence, where AI supports complex problem-solving in group settings, and Metacognitive Enhancement, where AI tools help students reflect on and improve their own learning processes. Participants will engage in discussions on these emerging levels and their implications for teaching and learning. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of how to engage with AI tools to elevate students' cognitive engagement and learning outcomes. Join us to explore how AI can transform educational practices, pushing the boundaries of Bloom’s Taxonomy and creating new possibilities for student achievement.
