App Design for Beginners

January 14, 2025
SOUTH 210C
Classroom Leaders
Got a problem? There may be an app for that… but if there isn’t, maybe you or your students should design one! With over 8 million users, the free MIT App Inventor is an accessible and popular app design program. With a visual programming environment supporting block-based code, App Inventor grants both new and experienced coders the ability to design mobile apps on a Mac or PC. In this workshop, you’ll get a crash course into app design principles and the basics of App Inventor. You’ll make your first app, then extend learning to add features and interactivity. In the process, you’ll discover entry points and applications for engaging app design lessons in the classroom.
