Writing Reimagined: Inspiring Disengaged Writers Through Innovative Formats

January 12, 2026
W415 VALENCIA A
Classroom Leaders
What if students who once dreaded writing became excited to share their voices? In this session, discover how podcasts, videos, TED talks, and other innovative formats transformed disengaged writers into confident storytellers. Featuring student presenters alongside their teachers, this session will showcase authentic examples of how technology reinvigorates writing instruction, increases collaboration, and helps every learner — including multilingual students and reluctant writers — find meaningful ways to communicate their ideas. When traditional writing lost its appeal, we revamped the process by incorporating media formats that students love. From podcasts on perseverance to videos about weather and speeches on community, students created engaging content and boosted collaboration. Join us to learn how to invigorate your writing curriculum and ignite student enthusiasm.
