Esports Leaders
Given the popularity of esports, scholastic esports programs present a unique opportunity to educate students on developing healthy lifestyle habits at a young age that they can carry beyond their esports activities. Additionally, this will help facilitate healthier gaming habits in a younger generation that will then go on to higher levels of esports competition in the future. Attend this session to have an expert teach how to create a general shift towards healthier lifestyles within the esports community at large and your school programs specifically. This session will cover three main topics – Mind, Body, and Relationships – that collectively form the Trifecta of Esports Health. Dr. Kathryne Bartolo, MD is UNC Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation’s (PM&R) newest sports medicine physician. She provides spine and musculoskeletal diagnosis care at the UNC Spine Center and at the UNC Center for Rehabilitation Care (CRC). Dr. Bartolo specializes in sports medicine, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, and esports and gaming health.
