January 13, 2026
EXPO: LEADERSHIP ROUND TABLES: BOOTH #1645
District Leaders
Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming society, and K-12 education is no exception. School districts face the critical challenge of preparing both students and teachers for this new reality. This panel session brings together board members from the Florida Council of Instructional Technology Leaders (FCITL) to discuss how their districts are tackling the issue of AI literacy. Panelists will share practical strategies, insights, and lessons learned in the following areas: Safe and Appropriate Use: How are districts establishing guidelines and policies for the responsible use of AI tools by students and educators? What digital citizenship skills are being emphasized? Ethical Considerations: What frameworks are being implemented to address the ethical implications of AI, such as bias, fairness, and privacy? How are these concepts being integrated into the curriculum? Innovative Applications: What innovative ways are districts using AI to enhance teaching and learning? What professional development models are proving effective in empowering teachers to leverage AI in their practice? District Policies and Tools: What are the essential policies and infrastructure that districts need to support the effective and equitable integration of AI? What tools are being utilized?
