TABLE5: Policy to Practice: Building Systems that Support Adolescent Readers and Their Teachers

January 13, 2026
W415 VALENCIA B&C
District Leaders
This session helps secondary literacy leaders and administrators understand the systems and best practices, from screening to intervention strategies—that enable teachers in grades 6–12 to bring literacy policy and research to life in the classroom. With literacy intervention a pressing need, the session offers a clear roadmap for embedding essential instructional practices across middle and high school content areas. By the end, leaders will be equipped to move from compliance-driven systems to classrooms where teachers are supported, students are identified early, and literacy gains are both measurable and equitable.
