Classroom Leaders
This presentation will offer secondary educators a practical guide to leveraging NotebookLM in their teaching. We will start by defining NotebookLM as an AI research assistant grounded in user-uploaded sources and discuss its specific benefits for secondary education. Key applications will be demonstrated, focusing first on how it can generate valuable study aids like summaries, outlines, and FAQs directly from course materials to deepen content understanding. Next, we'll explore how NotebookLM can enhance classroom engagement by generating insightful discussion questions from texts—ideal for sparking debates, Socratic seminars, or even structuring interactive class podcast segments—and by helping compare perspectives across different sources. Additionally, the session will highlight how educators can proactively use the tool to analyze materials, identifying potentially confusing sections or areas prone to common misconceptions, thus enabling targeted instructional support. Finally, we will cover practical strategies for integrating NotebookLM into classroom workflows and touch upon important considerations surrounding the ethical use of AI in education
