TABLE10: Future Ready: Boost K–8 Engagement with Career Exploration and Purpose-Driven Learning

January 12, 2026
EXPO: LEADERSHIP ROUND TABLES: BOOTH #1645
Classroom Leaders
What if every student saw a clear connection between today’s lesson and tomorrow’s possibilities? This session explores how purpose-driven learning—anchored in the Japanese concept of ikigai—can dramatically boost engagement and motivation in K–8 classrooms. Grounded in the belief that students thrive when they understand how their learning connects to their future, we’ll explore how integrating career exploration across subjects fosters both academic growth and social-emotional health. Participants will learn how to introduce the 16 career clusters in developmentally appropriate ways and design tech-infused, standards-aligned lessons that let students discover what they love, what they're good at, what the world needs, and what careers support those passions. You’ll also get hands-on with interactive tools and frameworks (including AI-driven lesson design) that make this work scalable in any classroom—no matter your tech comfort level. Leave with plug-and-play strategies to personalize learning and spark purpose in every student.
