Speak the Scene: Immersive Language Learning in VR Worlds

January 13, 2026
EXPO: IMMERSIVE THEATER: BOOTH #2245
Classroom Leaders
This session explores how virtual reality (VR) can transform language learning into a dynamic, real-world experience. Discover how a virtual restaurant environment was designed to help students practice language skills in authentic scenarios—ordering food, holding conversations, solving problems, and collaborating in real-time. Participants will learn how this immersive simulation integrates listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in a contextualized setting that supports student engagement, creativity, and confidence. We’ll examine how the project was implemented with elementary and middle school students, review outcomes, and share strategies for adapting immersive VR to any language or level.
