Scaling Educator Talent: Leveraging Technology to Modernize Apprenticeships

January 12, 2026
EXPO: LEADERSHIP ROUND TABLES: BOOTH #1645
District Leaders
This session addresses the escalating demand for qualified educators by focusing on the development of scalable technology to support apprenticeship pipelines. Presented by the Pathways Alliance, we will demonstrate how leveraging the Ed-Fi Educator Preparation Data Model provides a robust framework for tracking apprentice progress across CTE pathways, districts, and higher education partners. The core of our presentation will explore promising pathways to link this interoperable data infrastructure with emerging credentialing technology, such as Learning and Employment Records (LERs) and digital wallets. This crucial connection creates a seamless, verifiable, and portable record of an educator's journey from candidate to licensed professional. Attendees will gain insight into building a technology-enabled ecosystem that not only scales effective apprenticeship models but also modernizes how educator skills and qualifications are recognized, ultimately strengthening local talent pipelines and meeting critical labor market needs.
