Policy Starts with People: How EdTech Leaders Shape National Conversations

District Leaders
Too often, education policy feels like something that happens to us, not with us. But the truth is: EdTech leaders have powerful stories to tell, and when we share them with policymakers whether in Washington, at the statehouse, or at a school board meeting we shape what comes next. In this session, Dr. Stacy Hawthorne, CoSN Board Member and national EdTech leader, shares her experience at EdTech Advocacy Day in D.C. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at what those conversations with Congress really look like and how the same tools can be used to advocate effectively in your own community. From AI policy to E-rate, cybersecurity, and professional learning, you'll leave understanding both the national landscape and your local influence. You don’t have to travel to Capitol Hill to make a difference. Advocacy starts right where you are. All you need is a clear message, a little courage, and the right tools. This session will give you all three.
