Classroom Leaders
Join pioneering state and district leaders from EDSAFE Policy Labs at FETC for a session that aligns with and actively celebrates the mission of National AI Literacy Day. The content of this session is built around the core tenets of AI literacy, providing attendees with an inside look at how these leading organizations are not only implementing AI but also fostering a deeper understanding of it across their communities. This panel-style session will provide attendees with actionable, proven strategies and the key steps these organizations have taken to ensure the Safe, Accountable, Fair, and Efficacious use of generative AI in K-12 education. The discussion will be framed around the essential questions of AI literacy: - What is AI? Panelists will share how they are building foundational knowledge for students and staff. - How do we use AI responsibly? We will explore the critical importance of crafting effective prompts, evaluating outputs, and understanding ethical considerations like bias and privacy. - How do we prepare learners for an AI-enabled world? Leaders will provide real-world examples of how they are integrating AI literacy into their curriculum and professional development to prepare the next generation.
