Poster 7: Navigating the AI Tides: Equitable and Effective Assessment For The Future

January 13, 2026
EXPO: CENTER COURT: POSTERS
Classroom Leaders
As AI tools flood classrooms like rising tides, educators must chart new courses for assessment that are both equitable and effective. This session offers a guiding compass for teachers and curriculum designers seeking to ensure that student evaluations remain equitable, authentic, and resilient in an AI-rich environment. Participants will learn how to identify “leaks” in traditional assessments that AI can exploit, and how to redesign them into tasks that better reflect student thinking and real-world skills. We’ll explore how to integrate AI tools to support critical thinking and metacognition, while also establishing clear boundaries to uphold academic integrity. With real examples and a flexible framework, attendees will leave with actionable blueprints for redesigning formative and summative assessments to be AI-resistant or AI-inclusive.
