Gimkit is a popular digital game-show tool known for its highly engaging, gamified content, but did you know you can go beyond the pre-made games? This session will equip educators with the skills to design custom, engaging games for their students and, more excitingly, guide students in creating their own. Learn how student-led game design using Gimkit Creative fosters computational thinking, promotes collaboration, and ignites a passion for learning through an active design process. We will guide you through setting up a free Gimkit account and creating a quick platforming game tied to a set of content questions as well as discuss how it could be introduced to students from elementary to high school. Participants will leave with a ton of resources, including short videos that walk you through creating a platforming game.
