Lassoing Student Voice: Coaching Kids to Speak Up and Lead Their Learning

January 11, 2026

Classroom Leaders
In Lassoing Student Voice, you’ll explore three powerful strategies to help students unlock their potential and use their voices to create change. This session highlights blogging, podcasting, and discovery quests as innovative approaches that amplify student voice and foster authentic learning. You’ll see how tools like Google Workspace, Canva, and Screencastify can support students as they build communication, collaboration, and public speaking skills. Through real classroom examples, you’ll learn how to design opportunities that help students see themselves as creators—not just consumers—of knowledge. Whether students are sharing reflections, exploring global issues, or leading peer discussions, you’ll leave with practical ideas to help them speak up, take ownership, and lead their learning. By the end of the session, you’ll be ready to design your own lesson that empowers student voice and elevates classroom engagement.
