Feedback is a powerful driver of student growth, especially when it is timely, actionable, and student-centered. This session explores John Hattie’s research on feedback (effect size 0.70) and introduces the concept of feedforward—using insights from student learning to guide next steps. Participants will examine what makes feedback effective and how it can empower learners rather than simply evaluate them. Curipod, an AI-powered lesson design platform, enables educators to embed real-time feedback loops into instruction through interactive prompts, polls, SEL check-ins, and more. The session will demonstrate how to use these features to make student thinking visible and adjust teaching in the moment. Additionally, participants will learn how the student insights can provide feedback to the teacher, allowing further personalization of learning. Participants will engage hands-on by building key components of a feedback-rich lesson, focused on increasing student voice, engagement, and ownership with less prep time. Learning Objectives Design a feedback-rich lesson using Curipod (ISTE Educator 5a) Apply research-based strategies to improve practice (ISTE Educator 2.5) Use AI tools to amplify student voice (ISTE Educator 1.2b)
