Poster 15: Designing a Model AI Curriculum - Creating with AI: ChatBots and More!

January 12, 2026
EXPO: CENTER COURT: POSTERS
School Leaders
Designing a model AI curriculum for 8-12 year old students offers the opportunity to create engaging personalized learning experiences, and an engaging way to teach students “what AI is”, and “how to create with AI. By using the Scratch 3.0 framework, enhancing it with advanced features such as AI engines, it makes learning to code both engaging and accessible for the younger students with limited coding experience, launching them into a positive trajectory for AI learning. In this workshop, participants will actively engage with the design process, and will learn how even young children can create with AI, from designing ChatBots to adding features such as Speech Recognition, Image Classification, Face Recognition, Pose Estimation, Language Detection, and Hand Gesture Recognition to their robots, whether the robots are commercial ones or ones that the students build. Additional experiences, with added rigor and complexity will also be shared.
