What does real instructional innovation look like in action, and how can you implement it without losing sight of student outcomes? Dr. Lisa Lee, a middle school principal in Florida, and Dr. Retha Woolfolk, an elementary principal in Georgia, will share how they introduced zSpace into their schools. zSpace is a laptop-based immersive learning tool that lets students interact with 3D educational content without using glasses. Their goal was to increase student engagement, improve science scores, and strengthen school culture. This session goes beyond sharing results. It offers practical insights into how each principal evaluated the tool, built staff and community support, managed the rollout, and aligned the technology with academic goals. They will also discuss the challenges they encountered and the strategies they used to overcome them. The presenters bring valuable and diverse perspectives. One leads a middle school, the other an elementary. They work in different states with distinct student populations and policy environments. These differences highlight how instructional innovation can be adapted to a variety of school contexts.Whether you are considering new technology or leading school improvement efforts, this session will provide concrete leadership strategies, key questions to consider, and real-world lessons.
