Library Leaders
Discover how 2D digital fabrication can enrich curriculum, spark creativity, and inspire purposeful work. This session will showcase classroom projects using tools like the Epilog laser cutter, Wazer water-jet cutter, Cricut machine, scissors, or hand tools to support STEAM learning. Participants will leave with hands-on activities and adaptable projects that can be implemented with both high-tech tools and manual methods. Three Learning Objectives: 1. Identify ways that 2D digital fabrication tools, such as laser cutters, water-jet cutters, and cutting machines, can be integrated into STEAM curriculum to enhance student engagement and creativity. 2. Develop strategies for using both digital and analog cutting techniques to create manipulatives, support project-based learning, and foster cultural connections in the classroom. 3. Apply examples of classroom-tested projects, including math-based stained glass designs, art sculptures, and interdisciplinary maker activities, to design meaningful, hands-on learning experiences for students.
