Educators want more than to just buy a product--they want genuine partnerships that will support their students. But too many tech vendors miss the mark because they don’t know how to build these partnerships. This session explores the crucial relational aspects of K12 technology purchasing and how education leaders can guide vendors toward a trusting relationship. Our speakers will cover the critical elements of building strong, ethical, and transparent relationships between K12 districts and technology vendors. We will discuss the importance of shared values and accountability in partnerships and the importance of aligning vendor partnerships with district values and community needs. We will also share best practices for communication, negotiation, and contract management. Attendees will also learn about the importance of aligning vendor partnerships with district values and community needs, how to help vendors understand and address digital equity concerns, and about the value of collaborative innovation with technology partners. Through hearing our experts’ experiences, attendees will walk away with practical strategies for building trust, fostering open communication, and establishing mutually beneficial partnerships that prioritize student success and equitable access, not just products.
