The University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG) and Epic Games have been working together with Cleverlike Studios to use gaming as a catalyst to bring industry standard skills to the classroom. Several initiatives have enabled robust collaboration to bring opportunities to educators, students and university faculty. The E2 (Esports * Education) weekends bring area secondary educators together to learn to bring tools like Unreal Engine, Unreal Editor for Fortnite, and Twinmotion to the classroom through a series of workshops. The weekend event culminates with an esports tournament including high school and college students competing for a prize pool and bragging rights :). This collaboration has served as an opportunity for secondary educators to participate in professional development on the UNCG campus as well as a chance for students to experience the esports arena and see the great programs UNCG has to offer.
