Recent studies have shown a link between the overuse of technology and smartphones and an increase in social-emotional challenges among students. In response, many states and districts are implementing bell-to-bell cell phone bans. While these policies can be an important first step, they must be paired with effective education and student engagement to be truly successful. This session will provide educators and administrators with the tools to create a supportive environment where students can openly discuss the complex relationship between technology and well-being. We'll explore strategies for educating students on the impacts of excessive screen time and a constant digital presence. You'll leave with practical ideas for student-led projects and opportunities that allow them to showcase their learning and empower them to be part of the solution, fostering a healthier school community for all.
