Designing assessments that move beyond recall and truly measure student understanding is essential for deeper learning. In this session, educators will explore how AI can enhance Depth of Knowledge (DOK) levels and rigor in classroom assessments. Participants will learn how to analyze and modify questions using AI tools to increase cognitive complexity while maintaining accessibility for all learners. We will examine best practices for assessment blueprinting, leveraging AI to restructure questions that promote critical thinking and real-world application. Additionally, we’ll discuss how AI can support post-assessment strategies, including data-driven feedback and student reflection, to improve learning outcomes. By the end of this session, participants will have practical strategies for integrating AI into their assessment design, ensuring rigor, alignment with instructional goals, and meaningful student engagement.
