Techquity: A Deep Dive into Google Accessibility Tools
January 17, 2025
NORTH 310E
Classroom Leaders
Attendees will be introduced to Google's collection of free accessibility tools, designed to cater to the varied learning needs of all students, including Special Education and English Language Learners. The presenters both fulfill dual roles as teachers (general education and special education) part of the day and instructional technology coaches to their peers the rest of the day. This allows them to test these tools with students and then coach their peers on implementation. Participants will be encouraged to bring their devices and test these tools alongside the presentation to gain hands-on experience in how to leverage these tools to customize instructional strategies to support student learning. This session will equip educators with the ability to implement Google's Accessibility tools, fostering an inclusive learning environment for every student. This presentation will cover 2 ISTE standards: 2.2.b Advocate for Equitable Access and 2.2.c Model Digital Tool Use.
