Tech for Special Needs and Struggling Students

January 16, 2025
EXPO HALL LEADERSHIP ROUND TABLES: BOOTH 3386
Classroom Leaders
We often struggle finding tech that is appropriate for special needs students, and we struggle because the perception is that technology will “fix” the disability. In addition, teachers also have many students who do not have a special needs diagnosis, but certainly could benefit from “just a little extra” in order to level the learning playing field. In this workshop, we will utilize a variety of apps that will help struggling students succeed in any classroom and at any grade level. Learn how to integrate immersive reader for all students. Toggle assistive tools that are built into Surface Tablets, iPads and mobile devices. Utilize Microsoft Teams for virtual peer tutoring. Explore OneNote notebooks and different LMS so you can assign specific content or pages to students based on ability level or modification (i.e. reduced number of problems). Come see how to best meet the needs of struggling learners.
