Are you looking for a fun, innovative way to get kids excited about technology and making? Join me to learn about Recess Workshops at the Epstein School in Atlanta, GA. Each week, students can sign up to explore specific technologies and develop projects in our Innovation (Maker) Space during recess. These workshops spark curiosity in technology, inspire creativity, and encourage applying new technology skills to other curricula and future projects. Recess Workshops are designed to introduce students to various technology software and hardware, including 3D Printing and Cutting, Tinkercad, Adobe Firefly, AR/VR, Makey Makey, Canva, and Stop Motion Studio. Students have time to explore and brainstorm project ideas based on their interests in the technology introduced. During the first semester, some workshops focus on preparing for in-school, regional, and state Technology Competitions. Throughout the year, the workshops are well-attended, with input from students on ideas for future projects or what tech tools to utilize in the space. There is also ample space for open exploration!
