As the population of English Learners continues to rise in Illinois and nationwide, it is imperative to address the disparities they face in accessing computer science education. Despite their growing numbers, data reveal a concerning trend: English Learners rarely have the opportunity to engage in computer science learning. This session aims to shatter this barrier by introducing an innovative professional development program: Computer Science for Every Learner (CSEL). CSEL is designed to revolutionize K-5 education by seamlessly integrating computer science concepts into the learning journey of English Learners.
