EXPO HALL LEADERSHIP ROUND TABLES: BOOTH 3386
Classroom Leaders
I would like to share with educators the work that I am doing around engaged students of color in the world of STEM. I created an afterschool club where students work with their mothers in learning how to problem solve and work through the engineering design process. This group provides a safe space for students and families of color to learn about the different career paths in STEM. A majority of our families are not familiar with STEM and or, STEM careers. We not only work to create different robots to tackle various tasks, we also provide opportunities for families to learn how to get those STEM careers that are interested in.
