The Fullerton School District embarked on a new journey this year, surveying our students to ensure that we taught as many aspects of online safety, digital citizenship, information literacy and online SEL as we could across our TK-8 classrooms. The Innovation department collaborated with our SEL and Ed Services departments to ensure that we went beyond the Common Sense Media lessons and went deeper into many subjects with our students. Come see how we now ensure that all students receive a robust and complete digital wellness education, how it ties into our work in SEL and with our school counselors. See the surveys we created to ask students about their online experiences, how student focus groups and survey responses have shaped our lessons and curriculum, and how we consider this an ongoing process in order to protect our students and teach information literacy. Even see how we used AI to analyze student response to our current curriculum in order to make adjustments based on student voice, and the parent letters that go home with teacher lessons to encourage home conversations.
