January 17, 2025
EXPO HALL LEADERSHIP ROUND TABLES: BOOTH 3386
District Leaders
In this session, we delve into the intricate landscape of digital special education tools, focusing on the barriers to equitable access for learning. We'll navigate through the complexities of technology, including security and privacy standards, sole source and single source providers, and the unique challenges faced in network decisions within large school districts. Our discussion will highlight decision-making processes crucial for administrators such as Special Education Directors, CTOs/Technology Directors, and Building Administration. We'll explore the intricacies of managing multiple device systems of support, ensuring alignment with the parameters of devices outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Drawing from the experiences of a large school district comprising 24,000 students across 22 partner districts in a single county, we'll analyze how decision-making unfolds in such a dynamic environment. Attendees will gain insights into the practical considerations and strategies employed to overcome these challenges. The session concludes with an interactive segment featuring questions, discussions, and shared experiences, fostering collaborative learning and networking opportunities for all participants. Join us as we embark on this journey to break barriers and pave the way for equitable access in special education and technology leadership. Description assisted with OpenAI. (2024).
